Lots of angry voices and dismissive comments, but few positive solutions

So I was totaly amazed to see Brigitte DePape/Marcelle's little protest today, but then it got me thinking; she stated that we need a sort of arab spring here too ... now that crossed a line for me. You see, I appreciate as much as the next right (see left) thinking Canadian that Harper is a bit of what you might call a flaming doosh bag, but still, stating that we need anarchy in the streets and a military crackdown is a little extreme.

While I agree that we must strive to find ways to stop his government before the next term mandate, I am not sure that blatent civil disobediance is the way to go... its one thing to say we need change , its quite another to tell me
you're willing to kill this village to save it. So what am I getting at here? I am getting at the notion that as much as we all want to bitch and complain about stephen harper and we all KNOW that his gov't is poised to totally decimate our nation, I dont see anyone providing any practical solutions ; well thats not entirely true, I do see one place... the home of the NEW DEMOCRATS... the boring olde praries. Sure when you think of Canada you may envision swaying wheat as far as the eye can see... but you seldom picture OPP officers walking through them, or the disgusting ethnic meltingpot that is Toronto outside of prim areas like bridal path, orchard streets or upper class vaughn (copland) representing our vision for the nation. The truth is that many of our ideals about this nation were born in the wild-horse-running plains of the mid west.

Now is no exception; two major things I take note of. 1) project whitecard in manitoba and their stunning work in capturing the coveted commercial licenses for the current encarnation of NASAmmo, and 2) the cold air test facility in Thompson.... interesting to me that both of these heady initiatives are taking place in areas totally removed from any sort of major infrastructure we might think necessary for these sorts of undertakings. There are no super massive launch facilities to give reason to the hope of making this area an emerging space center.... EXACTLY....

What do you need to perform a conventional launch ? Lots of flat space far from people who will complain about noise or pollution.... but that is getting quite ahead of ourselves.... lets deal with the now a bit more first; what do you need to create a state of the art space simulation software? a few smart geeks, a few rad computers and a bunch of time... check. Manitoba could do this.

What do you need for an extreme cold weather/spacecraft test facility (look into the temp of upper atmosphere/outer space if you're having trouble here) you need a really cold place and potentially isolation again to prevent against the sort of complaints or giant signs you may see in suburban ontario around airports....

All I am getting at here is that manitoba seems to have alot to offer spacebuffs right now, and thats why I am even considering UoCN for the next phase of my educational goals... its not the most reputable, its not the most well established, but its growing, the whole area needs some direction and by-golly this might just be the place to become a super-rad-ultra-bitchin rockstar from the moon !

Supposeing someone has the foresight to take notice of these emerging trends over the summer and start advocating a plan, a dream a vision that not only us disillusioned canadians, but that the whole world could start to look again and say "hey, that sounds neat and useful and good...Canada as a middle power leading the forward looking direction of other nations.... whoda thought!" instead of ahhh shit, fok it, for it all. :P

Barry Devolin speaker of the house ??? omg please no !

this will be just like when chris hodgson was the minister of municipal affairs... just like when lauri scott gave up her seat for john tory. (for a cool $100,000.00 cash I might add [take THAT democracy]).. the conservatives in this riding win because of the massive gov't job base, the hospital and prison is all there is, and they employ alot of people... you can bet your ass this place will be the test bed for prison labour because then the city will save money from paying those pesky public employees a decent wage and then they can also call it skills development for the under 30 crowd since they cannot even pick up their own garbage or restrain themselves from overindulgance in drugs, etc, etc....

If this guy wins it will be the worst thing EVER... oh his site boasts how he gave $11,000 to the community for canada day celebrations, but the front page of local news is how the little communities are doing their own fundraising because the city wouldn't pony up the dough.... I bet lindsay gets 90% of the funding, this was the municipal affairs agenda all along, get all these communities clumped together then exploit them for LINDSAY only.... just like happened to the mariposa treasury savings (approx $500,000 from my reckoning) went to pay off lindsays ever mounting debts, and all the olde jail museum shinannigans for the first decade of its (dis) operations..... I have also been making articles on thepost.ca about the blatant curtailing of democracy on the online newspapers !!

I think I will be moving away even before next semester starts, this place is wakked ! lol

"There's an old Cold War saying commonly attributed to Winston Churchill…that goes, 'Democracy means that when there's a knock on the door at 3 a.m., it's probably the milkman.' The idea is that free societies don't send armed government agents dressed in black to raid the private homes of citizens for political crimes."

Score one for democracy, and one for winnie :)

An Opinion on the Space Shuttle Program and its Untimely Demise

Firstly, why hasn't the shuttle gone to the moon... say what you will about cost benefits and blah blah, but in truth, how could we retire these vessels without the accomplishment of a solitary extra-planetary voyage. If it were upto me, I would attach one to the ISS as an ampitheater and land another on the moon and leave it there to inspire future generations, or to be donated to a future museum (it would not age, corrode or deteriorate as quickly on the moon. But then I am oft considered a little extreme about these sorts of issues. Secondly, I would like to advocate that NASA TV be added to all digital cable services like CPAC or galaxy radio... how much did these companies make last year ? Whats the cost ? Okay then piss off and do it up, global. :)

I find the present state of the American space program to be a banal attempt to incite innovation through the provision of a lack of any other options. I worry that this may ultimately be less safe or efficient than our existing systems of super-bureaucratic-management, but I am somewhat encouraged that so much is again being entrusted to 'back yard engineers'. Goddard and Von Braun didn't have these sorts of super massive infrastructures when they were working out the scaled design models and technical details at the start. We should not forget that these fantastic manifestations of the ultimate human potential on the planet lead us towards getting off it :)

Youth Rally for the NDP Orange Crush to Save Canada

Why are the youth gonna swing an NDP govt ?

Because the bright orange blazes bold against a red and blue background of broken promises, cut programs, changed directions and unfamiliar leaders. The NDP rush represents our chance to show what we can do together. Green is a wasted vote, if ANYONE is unproven its the greens... but it just feels like it might be the NDPs time to shine... Rae NDPs won in similar times of distress, the NDP is the traditional choice of the dissilusioned.

The liberals, while the obvious choice for opposition to the Harper Gov't are more unfamiliar to us than ever before... there is no enduring figure, no alan rock, no cretien, martin jr... the old guard of our nation is gone, only 1 other MP (Trudeau) is even remotely visible in the public eye... its all Iggy and many people are not on his level.

Jack is back baby. The NDP have long represented the voice of the poor, the exhausted, the economically vulnerable... now there are many more people in that position and we can see plainly the sense of safeguarding the least of us more than the trickle down we are always promised from the good old boys on both sides of the aisle. The NDP are unproven... exactly. If the youth swing them in, they will be beholden to us, they will thank us and they will represent our concerns.... or they will loose our future support.

Either way, we are likely to face another election soon without the intervention of the GG.... many things seem on the brink of change. Perhaps this can be a step towards a change we can welcome, support, look back on fondly and remember with some small measure of Canadian pride as we, quiet and moderate as we are, began a real popular change toward positivity in our beleagured western world. The death of Osama today will change very little in our world... but an NDP win would be the beginning of somethin new, something vocal... I votin' orange because Jack aint wack and Harper needsta get sacked :D

Still, I do hope Iggy sticks around.

Thats not a nuke, its an anchor, the nuke think is in japan, not korea, how could you be sooo inaccurate : P

So, I was wrong, it was an anchor and not a glowing ion reaction breaching the hull... there was no nuclear incident, nor any incident of any kind with n korea. But that's okay, sometimes even I am fooled... you gotta admit, I know it seems like a thousand years since this event with korea but thats just not the case. The massive quake in haiti. the gulf oil spill. the war in iraq. the mid east jasmine revolutions. now the japanses tsumani and resultant fukishima catastrophe... already my forex shorts on japan have started to fall off... the tone of severity about it has died down.. and we lull , we wait, we hide in our little boxes looking out for the next big thing... EVEN charlie sheen has abandoned us !!!! the three episodes of sheens korner were certainly of dubious value for the thousands of us who waited watched believed for free and made it a phenomena. now the tickets are a hundred a pop and I can't even get through the internet traffic to the counter.... but now that I need charlie hes nowhere to be found. He told us that it would be daily if we wanted, and we seemed to be okay with that, but anyhow.

Like I said, now we wait, I think what it will be next is that Harper is a contemptuous douche and there is going to be an other elevtion which he will use to strengthen his grip over the nation even further. Whats really sad, is that I dont like the guy because of ideological differences, but hes basically just keeping the trough full enough for us not to starve or be annexed by america so I guess yah can't realy bitch, its not like any of the other parties offer anything much different.

What I find is really vexing is that since harper came in, only that wild rose party in his backyard seems to hae done anything interesting before someone threw a media blanket overtop of them. the greens are just some strange leftist socialist soccer mom party with no experience and no plan STILL in the eyes of the voters. Elizabeth May, though I am sure she is a wonderful woman and has served in her post, such as it is, well enough, is not they dynamic and bombastic leadership that movement needs to really make a difference. then there is the canadian action party, an outside contender to be sure, but what I dont get is why ?? is it just that the conservatives are rich enough to hire the best ad agents and prromote their message the loudest, is it big union votes that put it through .... why is it that harper isn't being impeached if his government is found IN COMNTEMPT OF PARLIMENT. he would be one of the first and I think the common people would like some accountability from a man who was elected on such a platform. I am sad that no serious personality has emerged from the more youthful ranks of these parties too, young people now are smarter than they were 25 years ago. Someone at 20 years old has been exposed to a massive amount of information and social experience. our generation makes or breaks the voter booth as obama showed. There are tons of people between 18-30, even upto 45 I would say who are more aware of the real solutions to problems we face today - simple concepts like free trade sucks, we need industry, more taxes on the rich or a flat tax, indeed. Do you hear me Justin Trudeau !!!??? :D

Anyhow, I just wanted to get a post out there and I have tons more to say on these or any topics, you can comment here or write me on FB mothkrukkerzzz !!!!!!

North Korea, George Washington Nuclear Explosion - I Worry

So I wanted to write this for a couple reasons, one is that I expect something to happen with these headlines in the next 48-72 hours so I want the hits (:P) but two is because I think we need to all sit down and take a good look at what our complacency has generated so far.... perhaps apathy is a better word. Theres an old saying I am fond of quoting "the only thing required for the sucession of evil is that good people should do nothing" Often now I hear my friends and others talk about the problems with government. I certainly share the sentiment that there is something terribly wrong when the concept of good government is an oxymoronic notion. Nevertheless we need to take a good hard look at the US military, its motivations and achievments over the past decade, before we embark on another path to war against an organized army of over a million participants (well over).

I just watched this video ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6kPwRx83z8... and as I was watching I couldn't help but notice the glowing part of the boat in the first few seconds... I am not 100% clear if this is showing some other ship or the GW, but if its the GW we need to be very aware of the possibility of a false flag attack...

The main problem with sorting out the truth of 9/11 in america is that the evidence was quickly destroyed, conclusions were quickly drawn and to question those practices or conclusions is akin to threatening the life of the president (is the death sentance appropriate for war crimes, they were for saddam [what ye do to the least of my brothers shall be required of the greatest among you also]).

Irregardless what I am driving at here is there are obviously tensions in the korean peninsula... lets not forget this was indeed fortold by our great prophed george dubbya.... iraq, north korea and iran (not necissarily in that order). I dont think Iran is 'off the proverbial hook yet, but its interesting that we would go for korea before iran... anyway, I am getting ahead of myself...

so the shelling over the past few days involves 1 of 5 islands which are OBVIOUSLY closer to N than S korea..... not that it matters, but there has been shelling from both sides now and just as it happens this coincides with the arrival of the good olde GW ( a vessel more than half way through its service life and sponsored by Babs Bush herself....

This rikkity olde hewer is now also obsolete we might add, in light of tremendous advances in the next generation of ACC, this unit (should something terrible happen) likely will not be a tremendous blow to the USA arsenal.

I keep dancing around it, but just something that hit me like a cold wet doosh in the face.... what if that friggin ACC has a meltdown... theres not much evidence from a nuclear blast.... think the yanks would admit their shit blew up ? Think they would try to pin it on some iconic enemy as a pretext for a war of aggression cloaked as defensive retalliation ..... nahhh !!! I mean come on, America... lying ...about... the ... cause .... of ... war..... (see afghanistan and iraq)

Good tidings for the onset of WWIII this weekend : /

Crap !
